Development of a Core Outcome Set for Dupuytren's disease

Dupuytren’s disease is a fibroproliferative disorder of the palmar and digital fascia, with an estimated prevalence of 7.3%. The diseased fascia leads to a progressive contracture of one or more digits, limiting range of motion, and impairing hand function. Currently, there is no recommended standard set of outcomes to report in Dupuytren’s disease treatment studies, nor are there guidelines on how the outcomes themselves should be reported.
This study aims to identify an exhaustive list of outcomes and outcome measures used to evaluate postoperative results for Dupuytren's disease. The identified list of outcomes will then be used for the development of a core outcome set (COS).

To create the COS, we will use the Delphi Process, an iterative survey-based method using various stakeholder groups. Our stakeholders will include patients, surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We will conclude with a final consensus meeting, whereby an agreement of 70% must be met for the item to appear on the Core Outcome Set.

A systematic review was conducted to identify an exhaustive list of outcomes and outcome measures in Dupuytren's disease. The identified list of outcomes will then be used a starting point for the development of the COS.
