Analysis of clinical index of Chinese medicine in treatment of diabetic nephropathy

Diabetic nephropathy is a common microvascular chronic complication in diabetic patients, and its pathophysiological features are mainly manifested as progressive renal fibrosis. According to relevant surveys, about 20%-40% of diabetic patients can develop diabetic nephropathy, which, if not treated in time, can lead to kidney failure and other serious consequences as the disease worsens. Modern medicine mainly uses glucocorticoids in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy, but long-term use will produce greater side effects. Traditional Chinese medicine has certain advantages in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. However, the heterogeneity of these trial results prevents meta-analysis from synthesizing clinical results, thus reducing the value of clinical trials. Selective reporting in clinical trials is also at risk of bias. Therefore, it is very necessary and urgent to establish the TCM core outcome system for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy.
