Endometriosis (EM) is one of the most common, yet challenging clinical disorder presenting to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Endometriosis is an oestrogen-dependent disorder that can result in substantial morbidity, including pelvic pain, multiple operations, and infertility, seriously affecting quality of life in EM patients. At present, clinical treatment methods are diverse, treatment for EM include surgery, hormonal manipulation with progestins, oral contraceptives and gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a unique therapeutic effect in the treatment of EM. However, the standardization of clinical trials limits the development of TCM on treatment of EM, such as no accepted exports or indexes applied for assessments, or no concerns about the varied exports or indexes, or high risks of the selective reported bias or lots of missing data, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a Core outcome set for EM in clinical trials of TCM.
